# Status Page Settings

> Control uptime display, incident history, analytics, search engine visibility, automatic incident posting and password protection

The **Settings** tab controls what a status page shows and who can see it. All options are available on every plan.

## Change settings

    Click **Status Pages** in the sidebar, open a page, and select **Settings**.

    Edit the sections described below.

    Click **Save Changes**. The button is enabled when you have unsaved changes and no validation errors.

## Options

| Section | Option | Description |
| - | - | - |
| **Timezone** | Timezone | Timezone used for times on the page. |
| **Display Options** | **Show uptime percentage** | Shows uptime figures for each monitor. |
| | **Show response time** | Shows the average response time for each monitor. |
| **Uptime Display** | **Uptime windows** | Select one or more of 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and 90 days. Visitors can switch between the selected windows. The page opens on the longest one. At least one is required. |
| | **Uptime thresholds** | **Operational at or above (%)** and **Degraded at or above (%)**. Defaults are 99.9 and 95. |
| | **Count scheduled maintenance as downtime** | When off, time inside a maintenance window does not lower uptime. |
| **Incidents** | **Incident history** | How many days of past incidents appear: 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, or **Custom** from 1 to 365. Default is 7. |
| **Analytics** | **Google Analytics measurement ID** | Format `G-XXXXXXXXXX`. Visitors are asked for consent before tracking loads. Leave it empty to turn analytics off. |
| **Search Engines** | **Allow search engines to index this page** | When off, the page asks search engines not to list it. Anyone with the link can still open it. |
| **Incident Auto-Publishing** | **Enable automatic incident publishing** | Posts incidents from your monitors to the page for you. Choose which severities to publish: critical, major, minor and warning. Defaults are critical and major. Incidents are posted after a 60-second delay so brief flapping does not appear. |
| **Access Control** | **Password protection** | Visitors must enter a password to see the page. |

## Protect a page with a password

    In **Access Control**, select **Password protection**.

  <Step title="Set the password">
    Enter a password and repeat it in **Confirm password**. A strength indicator helps you choose a strong one. The two entries must match.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save Changes**. Visitors now see a password prompt before the page.

  Use password protection with the **Internal** template to share status with your team only.

## Example

A monitor with 99.95% uptime over the selected window counts as operational with the default thresholds, and 98% counts as degraded. Set **Operational at or above (%)** to `99.99` if you want a stricter standard.
